xAI: Grok Imagine Image Quality

x-ai/grok-imagine-image-quality

Compare

Grok Imagine Image Quality is xAI's fast, high-fidelity image generation and editing model. It accepts text prompts and optional reference images, producing photorealistic outputs at 1K or 2K across a range of aspect ratios, including flexible adjustment of reference images.

The model emphasizes realistic detail — natural lighting and physics, accurate textures, and consistent rendering of named entities such as brands, public figures, and specific locations. It supports clean multilingual text rendering inside images, making it the top choice for posters, packaging, ads, menus, and social graphics. When given reference images, it preserves identity and structure for product placement, brand-aligned variations, and character continuity across scenes.

Sample code and API for Grok Imagine Image Quality

OpenRouter normalizes requests and responses across providers for you.

1

Get your API key

Create an API key from your OpenRouter dashboard and set it as an environment variable:

2

Make your first request

Use x-ai/grok-imagine-image-quality with the OpenRouter API:

OpenRouter supports image generation models that only output images and not text. These models can create images from text prompts when you specify modalities: ["image"] in your request. The generated images are returned as base64-encoded data URLs in the assistant message. Learn more about image generation.

In the examples below, the OpenRouter-specific headers are optional. Setting them allows your app to appear on the OpenRouter leaderboards.

Using third-party SDKs

For information about using third-party SDKs and frameworks with OpenRouter, please see our frameworks documentation.

3

Enable streaming

Add "stream": true to your request body to receive responses as server-sent events:

Parameters

NameTypeDefaultDescription
max_tokensinteger—This sets the upper limit for the number of tokens the model can generate in response.
temperaturefloat1This setting influences the variety in the model's responses.
top_pfloat1This setting limits the model's choices to a percentage of likely tokens: only the top tokens whose probabilities add up to P.
seedinteger—If specified, the inferencing will sample deterministically, such that repeated requests with the same seed and parameters should return the same result.
logprobsboolean—Whether to return log probabilities of the output tokens or not.
top_logprobsinteger—An integer between 0 and 20 specifying the number of most likely tokens to return at each token position, each with an associated log probability.
response_formatmap—Forces the model to produce specific output format.
stoparray—Stop generation immediately if the model encounter any token specified in the stop array.
frequency_penaltyfloat0This setting aims to control the repetition of tokens based on how often they appear in the input.
presence_penaltyfloat0Adjusts how often the model repeats specific tokens already used in the input.
